Super Better Yoshi (or...just Yoshi) is a green dinosaur who plays the role of an ally alongside Mario and Luigi in the Mushroom Kingdom. He was first found in Yoshi's Island (hence the name, "Yoshi") and eventually managed to discover Mario and Luigi (as babies) and protected them from Bowser, Kamek, and their troops. Yoshi can eat his enemies by sticking out his tongue and laying them as eggs and flutter-jump and act as a saddle for the heroes to ride on. Meanwhile, games that include multi-colored Yoshis have different abilities, with the Red Yoshi being able to breathe out a fireball, Blue Yoshi being able to fly, and Yellow Yoshi creating sand clouds following the landing from the air. Yoshi is also known to have starred in games as the main protagonist with the most notable being, "Yoshi's Island" and would go on to have more games that featured him in the spotlight, and even in cartoons (particularly the 1991 series).  

In M.U.G.E.N 1.0, Super Better Yoshi's gameplay is based on SSBU, having his hit sparks, hit sounds, and effects from there while containing some DBZ elements (his OHKO being most notable). His move set is also heavily based on SSBU and has moves that heavily emulate Mario/Yoshi games. He also has palettes that carry different abilities much like the multi-colored Yoshis from various games (though there are only 7 active palettes). Did I also mention that this character also has palette transformations during and/or between rounds (I.e., he changes his palette costume in a middle of a round, only for it to stay for the rest of the match (unless another change happens))? There are numerous cases where this can happen; however, there is a config file that gives you the option to turn on/off palette transformations during and/or between rounds. Finally, half of his win quotes are from the TV cartoons while the remaining are from the games, though a few are edited or made up by me.

Note about palettes:
There are only 7 ACTIVE palettes instead of the usual 12, with each of them having special abilities (except the first one lol).
However, palettes 8-12 do exist in the character, they've just been greyed out in Yoshi's .def file. 
So here are the steps to activating palettes 8-12:

1. Go to a file titled: "Super Better Yoshi.def" and open it.
2. Find a batch of text that says:

;pal9   = 9-Orange.act
;pal10  = 10-Black.act
;pal11  = 11-Brown.act
;pal12  = 12-Golden.act

3. Remove the semi-colons next to pal8, pal9, pal10, etc...(remember to save afterward!)
4. If you added this character to your roster before doing this, re-add your character on select.def (or Vselect if you use that) just to refresh the files. Otherwise, skip this step.

As for the palette's special abilities themselves...well, I don't wanna spoil all the details so find out for yourself! ;)
